Use Adminimal for a Responsive Admin in Drupal 7
Do you want many of the benefits of the new Drupal 8 admin area, without actually needing to upgrade? Check out the Adminimal theme.
Adminimal provides a responsive admin area for Drupal 7 sites.
Adminimal also has several usability improvements. For example, Adminimal has colored buttons for common tasks like Submit, Preview and Delete to them easier to see. Adminimal also provides improved layouts for the Configuration, and Module screens.
In this video, taken from our Better Drupal Administration class, Robert Ring introduces you to Adminimal:
Love it. Only lacks a dark version 😉
BTW, D8 should “adopt” Adminimal or Ember as the default appearance. No offend and hard to describe…, but D8 default admin looks somewhat dated and mixed to me. I know, a backend theme can be replaced, personal preferences etc. but I think D8 needs something more clean, modern, elegant and universal out-of-the-box.
True. I don’t disagree there. For all the changes under-the-hood, there are surprisingly few visual changes with D8.
Hi, Im the creator and maintainer of Adminimal. I Just wanted to let you know that Adminimal Dark will happen real soon. I already make skin support in latest version starting from (7.22) and if you check the file structure there is a blank Dark skin folder.

Yep, thanks for the headsup and confirmation. I am already following over there 😉
I highly suggest pairing the theme with the adminimal admin menu module: https://www.drupal.org/proj…
