What’s New in the OSToolbar for WordPress?
The OSToolbar is our way of making life easier for webdesigners. Using the OSToolbar, you can place video tutorials directly into a WordPress dashboard.
Your clients can watch the videos and learn how to use WordPress without needing to call you all of the time.
The OSToolbar is available to all members of OSTraining. If you’d like to use it, you can click here to become a member.
A new release of the OSToolbar is coming in the next few days. Here are the four new features in this release.
New Feature 1: More Videos
There’s now over 20 WordPress videos in the OSToolbar, with more to come.
New Feature 2: Choosing Which Videos to Show
You can choose which videos to show for your users. For example, you might have some users who only need to learn the very basics of WordPress. You might have some users who should not be updating themes, uploading plugins or changing your site settings.
You can now remove any video you don’t want to show. You can also re-order all the videos that you do show.
New Feature 3: Rename the Tutorials Area
We aim to allow you to white-label the OSToolbar as much as possible. You can now change the label of the OSToolbar:
New Feature 3: Custom Menu Label
New Feature 4: Permissions
One of the OSToolbar users asked us whether we could add permissions to the OSToolbar. He had some users who were Editors and by default, they can’t see many plugins. We said “sure” and now you can select which user roles can watch the OSToolbar videos.
